1. Remove large furniture

That overstuffed recliner couch is the perfect place for relaxation, but it doesn’t do your small space justice. Instead, remove oversized furniture and, if possible, place smaller scaled items that proportionately fit the room. Less is more in the tiny room, so if you don’t have anything small enough, don’t be afraid to remove it altogether.

4. Use Clear Furniture

Glass or lucite furniture, such as a coffee table or stools, are great pieces to use in that small space. They allow the space to have purpose without blocking the view and they allow the light to pass right through them. These properties make the room seem less cramped and more appealing to a potential buyer.

5. Give it a Purpose

What is the purpose of this room? Is it a great home office that’s separated from the living spaces in the house? Is it a cozy guest room? A hidden reading nook? A craft room? Think about what this room could be used for and stage it accordingly. Even if you use this as a catch-all junk room, give it a facelift by defining its purpose to your potential buyers.
